Akeil Robertson is a Philadelphia-based artist who discovered his passion for art while incarcerated. He has been engaged in the work of Mural Arts Philadelphia since 2014 and is a strong believer in the positive power of art. Artist’s Statement
This portrait was created from a photograph I took in 2021 of Marilyn Mosby on the steps of the Baltimore City Circuit Courthouse, across the street from the Battle Monument, colloquially called Lady Baltimore. I wanted the portrait to communicate that Mosby brings dedication and empathy to the city’s justice system.
